Dan + Shay recently joined Brandon Lake on stage to perform an unreleased ballad.
Lake shared a clip of the performance, sharing that the artists teamed up to try “an unreleased idea in front of 12,000 people,” during the Christian singer-songwriter’s show over the weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. It was the second night of Lake’s “King of Hearts Tour” stop at Credit One Stadium in Charleston.
“THE BOYS came through Charleston on NIGHT 2! I guess we should probably record this one now, yeah??” Lake wrote in his caption on Instagram as he shared a clip of the faith-fueled ballad with Dan + Shay. The country duo replied in the comments: “Thinking we might have to record this one [Brandon Lake]!”
The artists have not posted additional details — including a song title or a possible release date — as of publication time on Monday (May 4). Dan + Shay's latest song to release is “Say So,” a moving single that they wrote with David Hodges and Jimmy Robbins. “Say So” offers a powerful message about mental health awareness and the importance of offering support to one another. Lake, who released “The Author” with Nick Jonas on Friday (May 1), recently spoke about collaborating with country artists on an episode of Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast. Lake shared that he’d planned a “writing camp” in Nashville with more than 25 artists and songwriters, including Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett, HARDY, Bailey Zimmeman, Dan + Shay, Russell Dickerson and many others.
