Lainey Wilson has landed her next acting role.

The reigning Academy of Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year will make her feature film debut in Reminders of Him, the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2022 romance novel, Variety confirmed in a report on Wednesday (April 30). The cast also includes Maika Monroe, Tyriq Withers, Rudy Pankow, Lauren Graham, Bradley Whitford and Nicholas Duvernay.

“After prison, Kenna attempts to reconnect with her young daughter but faces resistance from everyone except a bar owner with ties to her child. As they grow closer, Kenna must confront her past mistakes to build a hopeful future,” reads the description of the Vanessa Caswill-directed film on IMDb (which does not list the name of Wilson's character). The expected premiere date is listed as February 13, 2026 as of publication time on Thursday morning (May 1).

Wilson made her acting debut on epic Western drama Yellowstone. The award-winning series premiere in 2018, and aired its finale last year. The show starred Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille and others. Wilson played aspiring country star Abby, and portrayed a love story with actor Ian Bohen, who played Ryan. The recently-engaged country star said when the series wrapped up that she was “grateful to be a part of this,” and Bohen said he “couldn’t imagine a better ending” for their characters.

In addition to acting for the first time in Yellowstone, Wilson took part in Twisters by way of writing a ballad specially for the star-studded soundtrack. Wilson delivered “Out of Oklahoma” in the highly-anticipated summer thriller, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include Luke Combs, Megan Moroney, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Bailey Zimmerman and many more. Wilson’s IMDb profile also lists her acting credits in cinematic music videos, including “Whirlwind,” “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” “Watermelon Moonshine,” “Heart Like a Truck,” “Things A Man Oughta Know,” and “Wait in the Truck” and “Never Say Never,” collaborations with HARDY and Cole Swindell, respectively.

Wilson recently hinted that “some of the things that we have in the pipeline, I’m excited to share with y’all,” though it’s unclear whether she was referring to her newest acting gig. The Grammy-winning artist spoke about the advice she received from beloved legend Dolly Parton: “‘I make dang sure I am passionate about every single thing that I do,’ she [Parton] said, ‘even if it means I am doing a million things. It means that I have to love every single one of them. It has to be a big ‘yes,’ and if it’s not a big ‘yes,’ that means it’s gotta be a big ‘no.’’ So everything we’re doing right now is a big ‘yes.’”

Soon, Wilson will take the stage at the milestone 60th ACM Awards — hosted by Reba McEntire — where she’s also among the top nominated artists. Others in the lineup include Blake SheltonEric Church, Alan JacksonBrooks & Dunn, Chris StapletonClint BlackCody JohnsonKelsea BalleriniLeAnn RimesMiranda LambertRascal Flatts, and Wynonna Judd, plus New Female and New Male Artist of the Year winners Ella Langley and Zach Top. The Whirlwind singer-songwriter, who’s kicking off the U.S. leg of her tour this month, said “to watch their stars just soaring, it’s really, really cool to see.”
