Luke Bryan reflected on his nearly 20-year marriage with his wife, Caroline Bryan, during a recent interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

The Mind Of A Country Boy artist, 48, met his wife, 45, in college. They got married in an intimate wedding in Turks and Caicos in December 2006 (Bryan previously shared the hilarious photo from his wedding day that still makes him laugh because it’s “so goofy”).

“We met in the most beautiful scenario: a college bar,” Bryan shared with Jennifer Hudson. “It was a college bar, and we were both going to college, and it was a total deal where I saw her in the bar and kind of made my way over there’d told my stupid little one-liners. And here we are, you know, 18 and a half years later.”

Bryan asked the talk show host and former American Idol contestant “which jewelry advice do you get for 20 (years)?” Hudson advised the country star to gift his wife diamonds for the 20th anniversary “so you can get to 25.” One of The Jennifer Hudson Show audience members called out “$1 million” for the 25-year anniversary.

“I married my college sweetheart,” the “Love You, Miss You, Mean It” star previously said in a statement via his record label. “We dated back in college and broke up for nearly six years, and while I was off doing my Nashville stuff and touring and writing songs, she was finishing getting her career kind of going. Man, we just kinda bumped into each other one night, and it was like bam, here we are married.”

Bryan also spoke with Hudson about his kids, about American Idol, about adding Jelly Roll to the show as the first-ever artist in residence (in the same season Carrie Underwood returned to the show as a judge 20 years after winning the show in 2005), and more. Watch the interview clip here:
