POWER LIST February 3, 2021: Nafessa Williams

Philly’s Power 99 is celebrating Black History Month by shouting out some of our favorite sons and daughters throughout the month of February with The Power List. Some of the biggest names in the world of music, entertainment, politics and the arts that hail from Philly or the surrounding Tri-State area.

FEBRUARY 3, 2021:

Nafessa Williams was born on December 4th, 1989 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She studied at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and although she is originally from Philly she took her acting talents to Los Angeles where she now resides. Nafessa is a film and television actress most well-known for her portrayal of Deanna Forbes in 2011 on the popular soap opera ‘One Life to Live.’ Some of her films have included “Burning Sands and Twin Peaks. Her most recent role is on CW’s ‘Black Lightening’ TV show, which is in its final season. She plays the role of a lesbian superhero named Anissa, who is portrayed as a strong and confident woman and eventually comes out.
