Every November, leaders, creators, and changemakers across the globe unite for Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, a movement powered by the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) to uplift and empower women through education, resources, and entrepreneurial opportunity. Recognized by the United Nations and celebrated in 144 countries, the annual event highlights the critical role women play in shaping economies and communities — especially at a time when millions of women and girls worldwide still face poverty and limited access to opportunity.

This year marks the 12th anniversary of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, and the celebration returns to the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, honoring an inspiring group of global icons. Among the #WEDO2025 Pioneer Award honorees are humanitarian and entrepreneur Angelina Jolie, fitness creator Chloe Ting, civil rights attorney Gloria Allred, and several groundbreaking founders and investors whose work continues to drive innovation and expand possibilities for women everywhere, including Daily Harvest Founder Rachel Drori, Element Biosciences Co-Founder Molly He, and Halogen Ventures Founding Partner Jesse Draper.

At the heart of the movement is WEDO founder Wendy Diamond, whose humanitarian work and volunteer experience with microcredit programs inspired her mission to help women not just survive, but thrive. Today, WEDO's impact spans the world through initiatives such as its AI Education Program, which aims to train 1,000,000 disadvantaged girls and women in AI skills to build and scale their own businesses. WEDO also funds 10,000 microloans through Opportunity International and supports reentry programs for formerly incarcerated women with an impressive 84% success rate.

In a statement, Diamond shared, "Historically, women have been underpaid, undervalued, underrepresented, underfunded and underestimated," adding, "We're rewriting that story. When women rise economically, entire communities — even countries — thrive."

This November 19, iHeartRadio invites everyone to celebrate Women’s Entrepreneurship Day — shop women-owned businesses, support female founders, and share encouragement with #JoinWEDO. Because when women rise, entire communities rise with them.
